Challenge:

Our client had a requirement to support a high-profile customer in conducting an internal cybersecurity analysis using their comprehensive analytics and reporting tool. Once completed successfully, our client’s customer would gain an in-depth understanding of the organization’s existing cybersecurity culture by identifying strengths, areas for improvement and resource allocation. The challenge that our client was faced with was a lack of internal Cybersecurity resources to be able to work alongside their developers in feeding their tool with the right information to give their customers insights.

Approach and Implementation:

1. Research:

We started out by looking at the 8 Cybersecurity domains as a whole:

  • Security and Risk Management

  • Asset Security

  • Security Architecture and Engineering

  • Communication and Network Security

  • Identity and Access Management

  • Security Assessment and Testing

  • Security Operations

  • Software Development Security

2. Brainstorm:

  • For each identified domain, we developed a series of questions and statements designed to provide valuable insights into the organization’s cybersecurity culture.

3. Collaboration:

  • We worked closely with the client, leveraging their Human Resources expertise to identify and refine the most effective questions to use.

4. Delivery:

  • After ensuring all stakeholders were satisfied with the information compiled, the client’s development team finalised the tool, making it ready for deployment.

Results:

Our client successfully met their customer’s requirements, leading to an expansion of their service offerings. In addition to providing a culture-focused cybersecurity analysis, they introduced a new service specifically targeting Cyber Risk in the workplace.

Conclusion:

This case study demonstrates a strong combination of technical proficiency and understanding, collaboration, and strategic thinking, leading to successful outcomes and business growth. Our efforts not only provided our clients customer with a deeper understanding of their cybersecurity culture and areas for improvement, but it also enabled our client to expand their service portfolio making us a valuable Cybersecurity Partner.
